As an engineer and technology manager with range across the full value and supply chains, currently working as an independent consultant to a variety of companies. I specialise in implementation of operational systems that deliver superior business returns and provide social value to the communities in which they operate.
All my career I’ve brought people and technology together as co-workers. This is how I use technology to unlock human potential, harness increased productivity, reduce costs, improve safety performance and create social value for a better world.
I started early. Founding a start-up at the age of 14 with my friends, we successfully brought numerous businesses into the digital age. At age 12 a chance visit with my parents to a mine site, catalysed a deep curiosity in me for how things work. It also seeded the start of a long-standing resources and mining career where I express passion to bring my best to the world and my family.
“My resources and mining work blends science, engineering, art, technology and people. I’m the one who ensures technology is designed for operations where products are fit for purpose, highly functional and operator friendly.”

I am a branch member for AusIMM (The Australasian Institute of
Mining and Metallurgy), and was recently the Branch Chair and a ESG committee member. I have led one of the largest AusIMM branches globally.
Most recently, as the representative of QLD Mining Professionals, I oversaw the response to Industrial Manslaughter legislative changes which enabled the organisation to pivot during the COVID-19 epidemic and capitalise on online professional development and introduce a Social Value professional standard.
I’m currently at Rio Tinto, working on operational data, reporting and governance across mines, refineries and smelters. Previously I was at BHP for 16 years where I had a variety of roles that included Principal Requirements (Applications) Analyst (Technology) and Principal Project Integration (Technology). Prior to this I worked in manufacturing.
As a senior member of Rio Tinto’s Integration and BHP’s Technology team I have been at the forefront of advanced mining systems applied to complex environments, my operational expertise and detailed understanding of key business processes enabled the gap between operations and technology teams to be bridged, which led to improved performance, better management of risk, higher cyber security, improved database storage, simpler data accessibility and improved end user usability of systems.
“As an Industry mentor, I’ve helped university students bridge the learning gap between theoretical topics and real-world technological examples within large-scale business and industry.”
